Safari Itinerary

KRUGER SAFARIS CAN BE OFFERED AS A RANGE OF 3-6 DAY SAFARIS FROM CAMPING AND ACCOMMODATION AS WELL AS UPGRADES TO GREAT KRUGER (PRIVATELY RUN LODGES JUST OUTSIDE THE NATIONAL PARK). YOU CAN EVEN COMBINE NIGHTS INSIDE THE PARK AND WITHIN GREATER KRUGER. CONTACT US FOR DETAILS AND OPTIONS

Day 1 Berg en Da;Camp, Kruger National Park
Leave from Johannesburg early morning to allow for various collection points. The route takes us through the wide-open spaces of the Highveld, down the escarpment and through the scenic Lowveld area. Stop for lunch en-route (own expense) and reach the Kruger National Park and Skukuza Rest Camp in thee afternoon. After settling in to our accommodation, you go out on yor first game drive which is a SAN PARKS sunset drive, this drive affords you the opportunity to see nocturnal animals that are more active at night and Park's rangers are allowed to return after the normal gate closing times. Note that these drives take place in one of the Kruger Park's vehicles with a Park's ranger. This is not a private game drive and there may be other guests on this drive (children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives).

Day 2-4 Berg en Dal Camp, Kruger National Park
Safaris are all about early morning, getting out there and seeing animals! After an early wake-up call (the time varies according to the seasons and park gate opening times) we have tea or coffee and rusks (dried biscuits to be dunked in your drink!) then set off on the morning safari, which will take approximately 3-4 hours. Your guide has an intimate knowledge of the park, which contributes a great deal towards brilliant sightings! On returning to Skukuza, breakfast/brunch will be ready at our camp. You then have time to enjoy a swim, visit the Skukuza museum, catch up on some sleep, visit the park shop which includes African curios, general food items and drinks, take a walk around the camp or simply relax at the viewing platform in front of the restaurant, which overlooks the Sabie River. Skukuza is also a bird watcher's paradise! Be sure to bring along your binoculars! After a siesta set off on the afernoon game drive, these are conducted in specially adapted 4x4 open game drive vehicles to allow guests the best possible vantage point. On one of the mornings, a SAN Parks Bush walk is included, where a Park's ranger conducts the walk and there may be other guests joining this activity. (Children under 12 year of age are not permitted on bus walks). The Bush walk takes place very early in the morning and you will not join a morning game drive on this day.

Day 5 Panorama Route to Johannesburg
This morning sadly leave the Park, we still have one more chance for game viewing from our closed, air conditioned tour vehicles as we leave the park.

Optional Excursion (free of charge)
An optional excursion to visit selected attractions along the Panorama Route in all our Kruger Safaris of days or longer. We stop in one of the small towns en-route for breakfast (included) and visit attractions such as the Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels, Lisbon Waterfalls and God's Window. We return to Skukuza at around 11h00. This excursion is available free of charge, replaces one of the morning drives and will be co-ordinated by our staff while you are on safari with us.
