Safari Itinerary
Day 1-2 Namib Guesthouse, Swakopmund
Upon arrival in Windhoek this morning; collect your vehicle and drive to the coastal and historical seaside town of Swakopmund. En route, recommend you stop at the mineral (stones) market just past Usakos at the Spitzkoppe turnoff, the local people mine stones such as quartz's including black tourmaline, rose quartz and amethysts and where buying will ensure the local community directly benefit. Join optional activities in the adventure coastal town of Swakopmund - a complete contrast to the rest of Namibia
Day 3 Madisa Campsite, Damaraland
Drive north to the Skeleton Coast, stopping at a shipwreck just south of Henties Bay before continuing along the coastline to visit the Cape Cross seal colony- a huge colony of over 100,000 congregate here during breeding season. Visit Twyfelfontein Rock Etchings and perhaps meet some of the local Damara people
Day 4-6 Hoada Camp Site, Damaraland
Continue to the heart of Northern Damaraland and onto Hoada Community Campsite, opened in 2012 under the management of nearby Grootberg Lodge. Join fantastic optional activities such as the rhino tacking, supporting the protection of one of the greatest animals known - the endangered black rhino. You can also track the elusive desert elephant, or visit one of the local Damara communities; join sundowner and nature drives as well as walks
Day 7-8 Dolomite Camp, Etosha National Park
Onward to Etosha, one of the best game reserves in Southern Africa, entering the park through the western gate - watch out for baboon and Hartmann's mountain zebra. Head out on game drives in the surrounding veldt
Day 9-10 Okaukuejo Campsite, Etosha National Park
Enjoy your time game driving in this incredible park - look out for species such as endangered black rhino (often sighted around Okaukuejo), elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, and many plains game species including giraffe, springbok and wildebeest.
Day 11-12 Onguma Campsite, Etosha National Park
Game drive to the east of the park exploring waterholes such as Kalkauwel, Klein Namutoni, and Chudob - heading around Fischers Pan to Twee Riverien is also worthwhile! Onguma is on a private reserve adjacent to Etosha - join night drives or sundowner drives
Day 13 Omboroko Campsite, Okonjima Nature Reserve
Head south to Okonjima home to the AfriCat Foundation, find out about cheetah conservation and enjoy close-up encounters with these incredible but vulnerable predators
Day 14 Departure
Return to Windhoek, perhaps stop at Okahandja, for some last minute souvenir shopping at the
craft markets where you can barter some gifts before retuning to Windoekto drop off yor vehicles and connect with your onward flight back home.
