Safari Itinerary

Day 1 Chameleon Backpackers Guesthouse, Windhoek
Collect your vehicle upon arrival and drive to your guesthouse, where you will have the chance to meet a Chameleon consultant who will go through your itinerary and answer any last minute questions. Depending on your arrival time you may choose to wander into the city centre, relax by the pool or join an optional township tour, horse ride, or even head out for a birding trip.

Day 2 Kalahari Anib Campsite, Kalahari Namibia
This morning (after breakfast), head south onto the Kalahari basin, where you'll overnight in a campsite. If time permits perhaps join an optional guided nature drive around the reserve to look out at some of the desert adapted wildlife within the red linear dunes and grassy valleys of the Kalahari

Day 3-4 Sesriem Campsite, Sossusvlei
Enjoy the stunning scenery on the drive to Sesriem, the main campsite and entry to the famous sand dunes of Sossusvlei. Climb Big Daddy sand dune adjoining the eerie Dead Vlei, where the ancient and skeleton camel thorn trees that appear to stand guard over the shimmering white pan before continuing to Sossusvlei. Relax under shade of a huge tree and appreciate the beauty of the area

Day 5-6 Brigadoon Boutique Guesthouse,Swakopmund
Drive through the desert to Swakopmund today, en-route stop at Walvis Bay to visit the lagoon protected RAMSAR wetland site, where you may see many species of birds including greater and lesser flamingo pelicans, avocets, polvers and the endemic Damara tern before a short stop at the salt farm. From here it is a short coastal drive to the historic and adventure seaside town of Swakopmund, where you can join optional activities on offer, perhaps take part in a marine cruise, scenic flight, kayaking and much more

Day 7 Spitzkoppe Community Rest Camp, Spitzkoppe
Today drive north along the Skeleton Coast road, stopping at a shipwreck close to the shore of Henties Bay, visit the Cape Cross Seal colony where thousands of seals congregate on the beach before driving onto Spitzskoppe. Climb the rocks and gaze over the gravel plains or take a community guide from the campsite to show you the ancient Bushman rock art of the area.

Day 8-9 Hoada Campsite, Damaraland
An early morning start perhaps stopping at Twyfelfontein to visit the famous rock etchings. Optional activities include hiking trails, rhino & elephant tracking, Damara community visits and nature drives.

Day 10 Dolomite Camp, Etosha National Park
Onward to Etosha, your first night is spent at Dolomite on the west side of the park. Look out for baboon and Hartmann's mountain zebra not found in the eastern sector

Day 11-12 Okaukuejo Campsite, Etosha National Park
Game drive across the park to Okaukuejo - this is the main camp of Etosha and the flootlit waterhole is renowned. Game drive in the surrounding area searching for animals such as lion, hyena, elephant, giraffe and antelopes

Day 13 Waterberg Plateau Park - Waterberg Region
After a final game drive; head to Waterberg Plateau Park, perhaps stopping at Hoba Meteorite along the way. Head to the top of the plateau to enjoy the view - watch out for Damara dik-dik on the way - the smallest of all Africa's antelope.

Day 14 Departure
Drive back to Windhoek to drop off your vehicle and connect with your onward flight back home.
