A short self drive safari taking in the dunes and desert of Namib Naukluft National Park, onto Swakopmund, the coastal town of Namibia before heading north to Etosha National Park - Namibia's premier game viewing destination before a final night at Okonjima - home of the AfriCat Foundation - one of the top conservation programmes.

Safari Itinerary

Day 1 & 2 Desert Homestead, Sossusvlei
After breakfast, collect your vehicle and meet with a Chameleon consultant who will go through your itinerary and answer any last questions you may have befoere your drive to Rehoboth to the amazing Namib Naukluft Park, arriving at Desert Homestead early afternoon. The rest of the day is at leisure - perhaps take a sundowner walk or join a horse ride. On Day 2 recommend a pre-dawn departure from your lodge to arrive at the park gate at sunrise, collect your entry permit and from here drive through to the rearkable dune sea.

Day 3 Cornerstone Guesthouse, Swakopmund
Leave after breakfast for your drive to Swakopmund, heading across the Gaub and Kuiseb passes towards Walvis Bay. You may like to stop here and take a look at the lagoon, a RAMSAR protected wetland site, home to many different aquatic birds such as flamingo, pelicans, cormorant, avocets, the endemic Damara tern and many more. Should you arrive early enough there may be time to take part in once of the optional activities such as an afternoon scenic flight over the dunes of Sossusvlei, to the coast to see shipwrecks, old diamond mines, dunes falling into the ocean as well as seal colonies, flamingos etc. Alternatively enjoy quad biking, ot tandem sky diving. Your accomodation for the night is in twin share room with en-suite bathroom, close to the centre of town, bed and breakfast basis only.

Day 4-5 Okaukuejo Rest Camp, Etosha National Park
Depart from Swakopmund after an early breakfast - onward to Etosha, one of the best game reserve in Southern Africa and home to many species of game including lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, hyena, giraffe, and many types of antelope including the black-faced impala. Overnight in a bush chalet on a bed and breakfast basis only.

Day 6 Okonjima Plain Camp, Okonjima Nature Reserve
After a leisurely breakfast and final game drive out of the park, head south to Okonjima, home of the Africat Foundation, where you will overnight at plains Camp, in a twin view room on dinner, bed and breakfast basis, with one activity per person included.

Day 7 Departure
This morning you may choose to enjoy an optional activity before returning to Windhoek in time to drop off car and take onward connections. No flights before mid-afternoon. End of Services
