09 Day Green Desert Fly In Safari Okavango Delta, Lebala & Chobe National Park 2015

Gold Rated, Upon Request Accommodated Safari (Botswana)

Safari Highlights:
Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve, Lebala Camp (Linyanti area) & Chobe National Park
Overview:
To many the Okavango Delta is one of the many reasons to visit Southern Africa and Botswana; the Delta is slap bang in the centre of Southern Africa's driest and flattest arid region. The water of the Okavango River travels southeast for five months across hundreds of kilometres, starting in the Angolan highlands in summer, the water is then squeezed through geological fault lines near the Caprivi Strip, then spreads out across 20 000 square kilometres, a huge fan of surface water seeping into the red detritus of the Kalahari Desert to form this amazing ecosystem! The Delta attracts many species of game, birds as well of course, the two legged homosapien. This trip takes you into the heart of the Delta visiting two camps and then onwards Lebala in Linyanti regin and finally to the infamous Chobe National Park. Here, hundreds of head of game congregate and move through the park, crossing rivers and living off the rich lands. Huge herds of elephant, buffalo, and other water dependent game is to be found and an up close experience on a boat is a must. Trip can be run in reverse for same price starting in Kasane and finishing in Vic Falls

Safari Itinerary

Day 1&2 Moremi Crossing, or Gunn's Camp, Okavango Delta
Departing from Maun in the morning, enjoy a light aircraft transfer over the Delta; taking in the magnificence of the winding, papyrus-fringed channels that make up one of the world's greatest wet land wonders. You will be able to see some of Africa's most celebrated animals from a bird's eye view 500 FT above the ground; the Okavango is an immense river that never meets the sea. Instead, its crystal clear waters spread across the Kalahari Desert, forming Africa's largest wetland phenomenon. The Delta is an abundant oasis amid the vast plains and pans of the desert that covers most of Southern Africa.

Day 3&4 Pom Pom Camp, Okavango Delta
Enjoy a leisurely morning (or perhaps another activity) before taking a chartered flight from Pom Pom Camp to the amazing Moremi Crossing, overlooking the legendary Chiefs Island and bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. You will based for two nights and days will be spent exploring the channels and floodplains of the Okavango on boat cruises, mokoros and nature walks.

Day 5&6 Lebala Camp, Kwando
Transfer by light aircraft to Lebala hidden in the southern portion of the extensive Kwando wilderness of 232,000ha, Lebala means wide open spaces, and the area is labyrinth of waterways, reed beds, islands and floodplains, bush, scrub and trees. Excellent general game abounds the broad plains creating spectacular scenery, adormed with herds of plains game and the ever attentive predators. The Kwando concession is home to more elephants than the entire country of South Africa. Game drives are rewarding and you may be lucky to see elephants, lion, cheetah, leopard and perhaps one of the packs of wild dog that frequent the area.

Day 7&8 Chobe Safari Lodge or Chobe Bush Lodge, Kasane
Your flight today takes you into the most prolific wildlife areas in Africa and offers extensive game viewing from water and land - Chobe National Park. They offer transfers from Vic Falls, Livingstone and Kasane and a whole host of activities including game drives, boat cruise into Chobe National Park, fishing, scenic flight, Namibian village walk, visit to a nearby reptile park, and Vic Falls day trip as well as an Okavango Delta day trip and any additional activities can be booked through their activity and information centre.
